As Artificial Intelligence transforms the financial industry, one critical question remains: How can we trust AI to protect the systems that safeguard our money?
Through ICTP 2026: AI-Based Financial Cybersecurity, the Lab of Information System Security Assurance (LISA) at Soonchunhyang University strengthened its international collaboration with Khan Bank, Mongolia’s largest commercial bank, bringing together banking professionals and cybersecurity researchers to explore the future of secure, reliable, and trustworthy AI in finance.
🔐 Securing AI in the Financial Sector
The program focused on real-world cybersecurity challenges associated with adopting AI in banking, combining technical training, practical discussions, and research-oriented knowledge exchange.
Key topics included:
🔹 AI Security: Understanding prompt injection attacks, sensitive data leakage, and emerging threats against AI-powered financial services.

🔹 AI Digital Forensics: Investigating AI-related security incidents and examining how AI-generated decisions can be analyzed and explained.

🔹 AI Risk Management & Governance: Exploring international frameworks such as NIST AI RMF and approaches to managing AI security, accountability, and reliability.

🔹 Secure AI Integration: Examining how AI technologies can be introduced into highly regulated financial environments while addressing network separation, data protection, and operational security requirements.
🏛️ Beyond the Classroom: Exploring Korea's Financial Cybersecurity Ecosystem
Participants also visited Korea's Financial Security Institute (금융보안원) and the Samsung Innovation Museum, gaining insights into South Korea's financial cybersecurity environment, technological innovation, and approaches to integrating emerging technologies into critical infrastructure.

🤝 Bridging Mongolia and South Korea Through Cybersecurity Research
Under the leadership of Prof. Kangbin Yim, LISA continues to expand its international partnerships by connecting academic cybersecurity research with real-world industry challenges.
Our collaboration with Khan Bank represents another meaningful step toward strengthening AI security capabilities, financial cybersecurity expertise, and cross-border knowledge exchange between Mongolia and South Korea.
🚀 Our Vision: Building AI We Can Trust
As financial institutions increasingly adopt AI, security must go beyond defending against traditional cyberattacks. It must also address the unique risks, unpredictable behavior, and accountability challenges introduced by AI itself.
From cybersecurity research to real-world banking applications — LISA is working with industry partners to shape a safer, smarter, and more trustworthy AI-powered financial future! 🌏🔐
