d students to compete in one of Korea's most distinctive automotive cybersecurity competitions!
🛡️ Not Just Another CTF — A Real-Time Automotive Cyber Warfare Challenge!
Unlike traditional Capture The Flag (CTF) competitions, LISAthon challenges participants to perform real-time Attack, Analysis & Defense (A&D) using actual vehicle driving data and production-vehicle-based testbeds.
Participants developed cyberattack strategies, analyzed vehicle network traffic, and implemented Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems (IDPS) to defend against competing teams' attacks.
🌏 Bringing Industry, Academia, and International Talent Together!
This year's competition achieved record participation:
🏁 56 teams and 130+ participants
🏢 Industry professionals from Hyundai Motor, AUTOCRYPT, HL Klemove, NAVER, LG U+, NEXON, and other leading companies.
🎓 Students and researchers from 24 universities, including KAIST, Korea University, Sungkyunkwan University, and Ewha Womans University, alongside high school participants.
🇲🇳 International participation from Mongolia, with a representative team advancing through the national preliminary competition held in August 2025.

The AUTOCRYPT–HL Klemove joint team secured fir
st place in the corporate division for its lightweight IDPS development, while university teams demonstrated impressive capabilities in attack strategies, detection algorithms, and real-time defense.

Under the leadership of Prof. Kangbin Yim, LISAthon demonstrates how our research in automotive cybersecurity, vehicle network analysis, and intrusion detection can be transformed into practical cybersecurity challenges.
Beyond the competition, LISAthon has grown into a Glocal (Global + Local) technology exchange platform, connecting leading companies, universities, and international cybersecurity talent with the regional mobility industry.
