LISA at the Core of AI-Driven Technology Development for Extreme Environments (K-ARMY
We are proud to announce a major milestone in advancing AI-driven technologies for high-risk and extreme military environments, including future wartime medical operations!
SCHU LISA officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Republic of Korea Armed Forces Daejeon Hospital, led by renowned trauma surgeon Dr. Lee Cook-Jong (이국종), to advance AI-powered military healthcare and intelligent mobility technologies.
LISA: Core Research and Technology Development
Led by Prof. Kangbin Yim, the LISA serves as the core technical research team, integrating expertise in Safe and Trusted AI technology into Army Technology.
From Research to Military Applications
As an initial milestone, LISA developed, modified, and validated a research electric vehicle (Renault Twizy), focusing on remote operation, vehicle monitoring, secure communications, and safety mechanisms. The vehicle was officially transferred to the Armed Forces Daejeon Hospital for further field evaluation.
Next Mission: AI-Driven Military Medical Mobility
Building on this foundation, our next research direction focuses on the modernization of retired military ambulances and the exploration of AI-assisted and autonomous medical evacuation technologies, with the long-term goal of improving medical support in challenging military operational environments.
Our Vision: AI That Operates Where Reliability Matters Most
In extreme military environments, technological innovation must go beyond intelligence. Safety, cybersecurity, reliability, and operational resilience are essential.
Through this collaboration, LISA aims to transform academic research into practical, mission-oriented technologies that can support military medical personnel and help save lives.
From the laboratory to the most demanding military environments — LISA is advancing AI technologies where safety and reliability matter most.
